Phone still down
Hi,
Shirley has informed me that her phone line is still down and may be for a few days yet. This has been caused due to the recent high winds taking down some phone lines in her area.
I will keep you informed as I hear any more.

Oh dear!...........still not fixed..........missing your daily tips Shirley! Hoping to see you back soon, Lynne
I have been in contact with Shirley by text and have passed on all of your good wishes and love. Still no news as to when the phone will be repaired as there was quite a lot of damage in the area. I had some damage to my greenhouse on the same night.
OK folks confession time now. My minimum spend policy fell by the wayside today as a friend was going to Farmfoods and offered me a lift just to have a look round. I bought 2 1lb packs of smoked haddock for £5. I love smoked haddock and its healthy, see I am even making my own excuses LOL.
Hope everyone has had a nice weekend, I will be back when there is anything to report.
Miss Shirley and Friends,
Just wanted to pop on and say that I'm missing the updates and tips, as well.
I'm another that has made a purchase above the necessary, I'm afraid. I was sorting out the pantry and cupboards and realized that the lunchbox items had been snacked to pieces over the holidays. (I would say,'grrrr', but it would do no good.) I found quite a few replacements for much less on sale on Amazon, so restocked the supply for the next three months or so. Beyond that, it's just been a bit of fruit and veg, and Son's milk.
I hope the phone lines get fixed sooner, rather than later, and that everyone else is having a more successful go with the spend-free challenge.

Add me to those suffering withdrawal!
I can't believe what a difference meal planning is making - so far I've bought milk, bread, fresh fruit & veg to be used now. Today I bought a bottle of laundry detergent that was just too good a deal to pass up - but - I'm putting it away for future use and won't include it in with what I can use during this quarter's challenge.
I've already figured out next week's menus and the only things I'll have to buy are milk, salad greens, potatoes and maybe some apples - won't even need bread as I'm planning on making a loaf of soda bread and by also using up the bread that I have in the freezer I won't need to buy any.
Hurry back Shirley - Maggie in Toronto
Hi everyone
I also will only need to buy milk, fruit & veg this week, the challenge is going better than I expected so far. Having a go at a sourdough starter....Day 5 and it's bubbling away nicely and has doubled in volume overnight!
I do hope you're back soon Shirley, you must be so frustrated and we are missing you so much.
Regards, Sooze
