Further to my earlier blog of today. The block of 'thick gravy' had been turned out into a dish and left there before I went out. On return home I noticed no water had leached out. Great I thought. Then my husband, who cannot keep his fingers to himself, pressed the top of the block and lots of water then appeared. Heck! I thought. But strangely, the water was then reabsorbed as rapidly as it had appeared. Just like a sponge. More testing needed, but still feel I'm getting there. More on this topic as I progress with the trials.
